Benton edges Bryant

The Benton Panthers scored off a counter in the middle of the first half and it was more than enough as the Panthers defeated the Bryant Hornets 1-0 on Thursday at Panthers Stadium in a makeup game from earlier this season.
“We played one heck of a game,” Benton Coach Bobby Winn said. “Bryant is a great team with tons of depth that at times offsets our talent, but in the end our effort and game plan won the match. We knew from the start we had to play level-headed and simple, and get ready for a war.” 
Benton sophomore Tyler Vandiver came up with a steal and assisted freshman Garrett Bosley, who made an impressive goal 18 minutes into the game.
“We had several shots but could not get one to go in,” Bryant Head Coach Jason Hay said. “Benton out-coached and outplayed us.
“We will need to bounce back against Russellville (tonight).”
