Lady Hornets lose in semifinals

Bryant lost to Bentonville 5-4 in penalty kicks during Saturday's semifinals.

The Bentonville girls soccer team advance to next week's championship with a 5-4 penalty kick win over the Bryant Lady Hornets during Saturday's semifinals.

Gabby Miller made the deciding save to secure the win for the Lady Tigers.

Bryant, the defending 7A State champions, were tied 0-0 with Bentonville after two overtimes.

Bentonville defeated Fort Smith Southside 7-1 in the quarterfinals.

Bryant drops to 20-1-1 overall this season after defeating Spring Har-Ber 3-1 on Friday.

It was the final game for Head Coach Julie Long as she was hired as the assistant principal at Bryant High School for next year.

It also the final game for seniors Kendall Selig, Kayla Dreher, Britney Sahlmann, Whitney Brown, Kara Moser, Anna Lowery and Peyton Ramsey.

Together, those seniors have reached the state finals in three of their four years, posting a combined record of 82-7-4.
