In June of 2016, Chelsea Tarver purchased Dancer’s Edge Dance Studios in Benton. Dancer’s Edge was built by Dianna Prickett in 2009 and has been a source for a great dance education as well as a place for young people to develop strong moral and leadership abilities.
The studio has been dedicated to turning out dancers who are not only well educated in a variety of styles and technique, but dancers who become true artists. They have earned the reputation for providing the best possible dance instruction, competitive team training, and skill building for dance team tryouts. That legacy will continue under the direction of Tarver.
Since the purchase, the studio has undergone a remodel and features a room for the parents to work out on weights, treadmills, and elliptical machines while waiting on their child’s class to end. They have also converted one room into a “study” for the kids to work on homework or relax between classes.
Dancer’s Edge has three large studios that are in use from 4-9 p.m. during the week. All studios are equipped with state-of-the-art stereo systems, mirrors, and wall-mounted bars. Dancer’s Edge has a staff of nine trained teachers who have nearly 200 collective years of dance, cheer, and teaching experience. They will be offering ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, musical theatre, lyrical, contemporary, pointe, dance team technique, jazz technique, tap technique, acro, dance fitness classes, and a mommy’s morning out program.
Registration for the 2016-2017 season will be today, Aug. 10-12 from 10 a.m. - 7 p.m. and Aug. 13 from 9-noon. Parents are able to drop in anytime and register their child, ask questions, and view the facility.
