Burks commits to UAM

BRYANT – Bryant senior Gunnar Burks has verbally committed to the University of Arkansas-Monticello and will officially sign with the Boll Weevils on National Signing Day in February.
“I was excited about it,” Burks said. “When (Coach Hud Jackson) called me and offered me a scholarship, it made me realize that a lot of hard work has paid off.
“I was excited about that.”
Burks accounted for nearly 1,900 yards of total offense for the Hornets his senior season. He was 101 of 163 (62 percent) passing for 1,358 yards and 12 touchdowns with just five interceptions.
He also ran for seven scores. He was second on the team in rushing with 535 yards, which includes sacks.
