Trudell takes 3rd, earns AS

Benton sophomore Alex Trudell earned All-State honors in the 6A State Tournament at Burns Park in North Little Rock on Tuesday as she defeated El Dorado’s Alexis Downum 8-4 in the consolation bracket to take third overall in the state. Trudell would fall to 6A defending champion Emily Heide 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 in the semifinals earlier in the morning.
