No player scored in double figures for the Benton Lady Panthers on Senior Night, but Benton handled the Pine Bluff Fillies 40-29 Tuesday at Benton Arena. Seven Lady Panthers scored between nine and three points as Benton improved to 7-6 in the 6A South with a make-up game remaining against Lake Hamilton in Pearcy.
“That’s how we’ve been all year,” Benton Coach Jerry Chumley said of the balanced scoring, “really my whole career here.”
Benton senior Taylor Oglesby (T.O.) put a pretty good game together for Senior Night finishing with a team-high nine points, and game-high nine rebounds and seven assists, and added two steals to round out the stat sheet.
“T.O. does so much for us,” Chumley said. “She saved one of her best all-around games for her last home game and I’m proud of her. We have to have T.O. on the floor. We just feel better when she’s out there. She’s so capable of doing it all the time you just have to have her out there.”
