CONWAY – After handling the West No. 6 seed Rogers Lady Mounties to go up 2-1 in the third set of the first round of the 7A State Volleyball Tournament in Conway, the Central No. 2 seed Bryant Lady Hornets would get down 16-9 in the fourth set.
But senior Allie Anderson would get a kill assisted from senior Britney Sahlmann to begin a 4-0 streak and Anderson picked up a big block for a point to start a 7-0 run for a 20-17 lead in an eventual 25-20 victory and a 3-1 win (25-20, 22-25, 25-18, 25-20) over the Lady Mounties for a round two matchup with the West No. 1 seed Fayetteville Lady Bulldogs today at 6 p.m. at Buzz Bolding Arena in Conway .
“We almost let it go in Game 4, but luckily the girls snapped back into it and took care of some stuff,” Bryant Coach Beth Solomon said. “I let them (Lady Hornets) do it. It’s one of those things, do I call a time out, do I not call a timeout.”
