After defeating the West No. 6 seed Rogers 3-1 in the first round of the 7A State Volleyball Tournament on Tuesday, the Central No. 2 seed Bryant Lady Hornets ran into a buzz saw in the West No. 1 seed Fayetteville Lady Purple Dogs in Round 2 Wednesday at Buzz Bolding Arena at Conway High School.
The Lady Hornets lost 25-14 in the first two sets against Fayetteville before giving the Dogs a tough game in the third and final set, but fell 25-21.
“Fayetteville is a good team,” Bryant Coach Beth Solomon said. “I knew that going into it. I knew this was going to be a really hard game. We watched film on them and they didn’t look like that in the film we were watching. But I knew we were going to have to be on our toes.”
