Working off of her 300-meter hurdles Meet of Champions victory last week, Bryant senior Haley Hood capped her marvelous Lady Hornet career with a fourth-place finish in the 2016 Arkansas Heptathlon at Cabot High School.
Parkview's Jada Baylark took the heptathlon title with 4,517 points, Robinson's Asia Anderson with 4,461, Clinton's Allie Hensley 4,126, Hood with 4,119 and Rivercrest's Sydney Lane fifth at 3,672.
Hood wasn't the only Lady Hornet to excel as junior Jadyn Lewis finished in ninth place with 3,567 points. Hood's sister, junior Bree Hood, also competed and took 49th out of 73 competitors 2,684 points.
"I was extremely proud of our three young ladies that competed over the last two days," Bryant Lady Hornet Coach Danny Westbrook. "I feel like they represented our school and community very well. It is not a usual thing that two ladies from the same high school get a top-10 medal in the heptathlon.
