Bryant will take on a familiar foe tonight as they travel to Fayetteville to face 7A/6A Central rival Conway beginning at 5:30 p.m. at Baum Stadium.
“We just work on getting better at what we do,” Bryant Head Coach Kirk Bock said. “If we beat somebody, it is not a scheme, we just want to play good solid baseball.
“There are no trick plays in baseball.”
For the fifth time in the last seven years, the Hornets (30-2) will be playing for the 7A State Championship. Of those previous four, Bryant won three — all at Baum Stadium.
Bryant split the season series with Conway (23-7) this year, losing 4-0 to the Wampus Cats on April 5. In that game, Bryant committed five errors in the first inning.
“We were down so early, it was hard to play our game,” Bock said.
The Hornets defeated Conway 2-1 on April 28.
Starting for Bryant in tonight’s championship game is senior Zach Jackson.
