The Harmony Grove Cardinals rode sharpshooter Christian Brown once again Tuesday, defeating Perryville 69-57 to open conference play.
Brown, known for his deep shooting ability, knocked down only two threes, but took care of business inside the line, finishing with a game-high 27 points.
Brown’s brother, Austin, also contributed with another nice performance, adding 13 in the win.
The Cardinals led 15-7 after the first quarter before taking a 34-25 advantage into the locker room at halftime.
Harmony Grove faltered slightly in the third quarter, allowing Perryville to gain four points in that time.
The Mustangs took advantage of poor ball handling by the Cardinals in the fourth quarter, tying the tilt twice.
Luckily, Harmony Grove was able to shoot its way out of the quarter and the game, outscoring Perryville 24-17 in the last quarter alone.
