The Harmony Grove Cardinals (4-3, 2-2) have hit a tough stretch in their 7-4A Conference schedule, losing back-to-back games including a 35-6 defeat at Arkadelphia in Week 7.
This week, the Cardinals play host to Nashville (6-1, 3-1), which is coming off of a close 27-20 victory over Ashdown a week ago.
This year, the Scrappers use a two-quarterback setup at times with seniors Tristen Jamison and Jake Moorer leading the charge. Moorer, to this point, has been the go-to guy, completing 49 of 92 passes for 634 yards and seven touchdowns. He has been intercepted eight times in seven contests.
Jamison is completing passes 44 percent of the time, collecting 279 yards and two scores to go along with four interceptions.
On the ground, Nashville possesses three backs capable of big yardage with sophomore Keyshawn Stewart taking command to this point with 97 carries for 684 yards and 11 scores. He has eclipsed the 100-yard mark four times this season.
Junior Carmillias Morrison follows with 95 touches for 598 yards and four scores. Fellow junior Jakobe Jefferson rounds out the ground attack trio with 390 yards on 49 carries and five scores.
As a team, Nashville has scored 28 times on the ground, totaling 1,871 yards rushing this season, including nine 100-yard showings.
In the receiving corps, junior Ty Basiliere and sophomore De’vay Ragland have each gone over 200 yards this year with Basiliere leading with 251 on 10 catches and four scores.
Defensively, junior Devonte Witherspoon has a team-high 68 tackles, including five for loss for the Scrappers.
Senior Jordan White follows with 42. Overall, Nashville has dropped opponents behind the line of scrimmage 42 times in 2018, including 15 times on sacks.
Nashville’s secondary makes it tough on opponent passing as well, intercepting the throw eight times thus far.
In Week 7, Harmony Grove had a tough go at moving the ball, totaling 171 yards of total offense while giving up 445 to the defending 4A state champions.
Sophomore running back Canyon Clifton did score his first touchdown of his career in the loss, and rushed for a team-leading 35 yards.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. at Sykes Stadium in Haskell.
