A tough shooting night for the Benton Panthers led to a 6A South loss Friday night at Benton Arena. The Panthers were forced to play at Lake Hamilton’s pace in a 32-30 loss to the Wolves as no Benton player scored in double figures Friday night.
“They’re very methodical,” Benton Coach Dexter Hendrix said of the Wolves. “They play at a slow pace and we kind of fell into it.
“I thought we had a lot of good energy in the first half, it was just an extremely tough night scoring the basketball. We just didn’t finish plays, didn’t finish open looks; there’s just a lot of things we have to get better at.”
The Panthers (13-11, 5-7 South) shot 11 of 32 (34 percent), including 5 of 20 in the first half they led 15-12. Benton was down 7-2 after the first quarter but picked up the pace in the second.
