Behind a pitcher from central Arkansas, freshman Blaine Knight of Bryant, Arkansas’ resilient but reeling Razorbacks try to regroup tonight in their annual central Arkansas visit to Dickey-Stephens Park in North Little Rock.
At the home of the Double A Arkansas Travelers, the Arkansas Razorbacks, 20-12 of the SEC, meet the University of Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks, 13-19 of the Sun Belt Conference.
The records indicate a mismatch in Arkansas’ favor but little has gone favorably these last two SEC weekends with the Razorbacks losing 2 of 3 at home to Missouri, then were swept three this past weekend by the Ole Miss Rebels in Oxford, Mississippi.
Poor starting pitching lasting from just one inning into the fourth inning plagued the Razorbacks in all six of their recent SEC games.
So Knight, 2-0, and 4.15 ERA and pitching better than any Razorback at Ole Miss throwing four scoreless innings with six strikeouts against three hits and a walk, draws tonight’s start against ULM senior right-hander Chris Hunt, 2-3, 5.68.
